, kron 4 news. >> tonight san francisco police are investigating a bizarre murder case. a man and woman found bound and gagged in the middle of a residential neighborhood. the man is dead. the woman is fighting for her life tonight. krom 4's justine has more. >> reporter: the crime is egregious and disturbing. >> police found the bodies of a 20-year-old black man and a 19- year-old white female bound gagged and left for dead in this neighborhood. both victims went to the hospital where the man later died and the woman is fighting for her life with severe injuries. police cannot elaborate on how the two new each other. say where they are from or answer the question, why the victims were left brutally on this street? >> our investigators canvassed the neighborhood to see if any video surveillance captured the incident on video as well as to see if anyone witnessed this incident. >> people who live here are shocked by the horrible violence. >> i wouldn't even leave the house alone. i had to leave with other people. >> police are encouraging anyone with information about this crime to come

with all those who are making our communities stronger. >>> learning more about the san francisco police sergeant who posted a video of his high-speed joyride. the certainly has a new job title. >> reporter: on thursday, the san francisco police department reassigned sarge carl to an administrative assignment with no public contact. he and his friends were drunk when this video was recorded. he wrote "broadway tunnel, 100 miles per hour." investigators will go over this video and possibly contact facebook. the sergeant could receive a written reprimand, be suspended or fired. under san francisco's rule of order, misconduct is classified as any breech of peace, negligent of duty, or reflects discredit on the department should be considered unofficer-like conduct subject to disciplinary action. the chief is leaning toward suspending him at this point. but it's still early, and the investigation has not been completed yet. but it appears the san francisco cop will be allowed to stay on the force. >>> new businesses in san jose are getting a break. the council is planning to fill up some emp

>>> developing news tonight. four people injured in the twin peaks area of san francisco after police say a driver ran into the group. jeff bush is live. >> reporter: wean just a little bit about -- we know just a little bit about this incident. to my right is the twin peaks overlook, where you can see san francisco from twin peaks. a driver hit four people, knocking one of them 30 feet down this steep ravine. the fire department had to rescue that person. she went to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. a suspect was arrested a short time after, not too far away from this situation. four people were in that vehicle. we're not sure if drugs or alcohol were involved. but there has been an arrest. four people were hit. two people with nonlife-threatening injuries, two people with life-threatening injuries. more on this story as we get more developments. live in san francisco, kron4 news. >>> major charge s underway in curry village at yosemite national park where the hantavirus outbreak started in the summer. >> 10 people got sick from the hantavirus. three eventually di

with the death of a man who was one of two people found bound and gagged on a san francisco street. police are not saying much on the relationship between the suspect and the victims, only that there was some kind of extensive relationship. there are many unanswered questions. police revealed some details at a news conference earlier this evening. >> the motive for the attack is under investigation. i won't be able to get into the details as far as what led to the attack. i can say that the male victim appeared to have blunt force trauma and gunshot wounds to the upper body. the cause of death is pending the examination of the coroner's autopsy report. >> the man identified as steven reed died after being taken to the hospital. the young woman is still in serious condition. the san francisco district attorney's office tells us they have not yet received the case. >>> three peninsula city police chiefs updated residents on "separation smart" this evening, the program launched for curbing gang violence. >> reporter: there have been more than a dozen gang-related shootings in east palo alto

in many locations like san francisco is one of the weather spots with an inch and a quarter of rain and there still is more on the rain and i'll let you know how long it's going to last. vicky. >> we've had it scattered across the bay area. and our team cover is continued and that's the worst weather. >> i'm not getting rained on. it's the first time all day i've been dry and i've spent time all across the north bay. late tuesday a water main broke in fairfax leaving homes without water for a short time. in this video you can see water from the broken pipe racing down the hill. this is one of the many problems on christmas day. in petaluma, it causes flooding on highway 101 and that didn't stop cars from plowing through the water. chp$laç5z tells us there was one accident because of this water. driving on highways of 101 was a mess. the visibility was poor and because of the rain it was standing water in sections of highway that causes the wet stuff to go everywhere. while i was driving i saw a car hydroplane across four lanes of traffic and the driver's wheels caught before he cra
to remember the victims of the school shooting. kron four's jeff bush was with a group in san francisco and talked to people directly affected by gun violence and this weeks shooting. several dozen gathered at the playground in dolores park at sundown. it was a fitting place to remember the young lives that were lost on friday. reading of names. everyone was clearly moved by the east coast mass murder but stephanie dalton had a heavier heart than most. stephanie dalton knew one of the victims i work with jazz muscians and a very dear friend of mine, jazz saxaphonist, jimmy greene, who is a very beautiful person who's five year old girl, ana greene was lost. >> stephanie could not contain her emotion when she showed me the picture of her friend's daughter. >> ana was just bright and full and what everybody told me she had the whole world with two loving parents and a father who writes and plays the most beautiful music. >>reporter: megan scully has also been directly affected by a mass shooting. megan scully shooting >> i lost my brother at 101 california 20 years ago to a similar incide
